Privacy Policy

500.RIP collects only information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and provide the service. 500.RIP is a digital platform for creating public project Graves, displaying Flowers, rankings, and related content.
1. Information You Submit
You may voluntarily provide a project name, project URL, domain, tagline, Last Words, tags, project logo, other Grave content, and messages sent to support. Information submitted to a public Grave may be publicly visible. Do not place sensitive personal information in public Grave content.
2. Technical Information
To operate and protect the service, 500.RIP and its infrastructure providers may process an IP address, browser and device information, request logs, timestamps, and security or abuse signals. For Free Grave rate limiting, the server creates a secret-keyed hash derived from the request network address and a temporary browser session identifier. The raw secret is not public.
The browser uses local storage for optional display preferences such as the selected plaque font, and session storage for a temporary anti-abuse session identifier. 500.RIP does not currently use optional analytics, advertising trackers, or marketing cookies.
3. Payment Information
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers or merchants of record. Payment transactions may be processed by Dodo Payments when payment functionality is enabled. Payments are not currently live.
500.RIP does not directly store complete payment card numbers. When payments are enabled, 500.RIP may receive transaction-related information needed to deliver and account for a purchase, such as payment status, a transaction reference, amount, currency, product purchased, and timestamps.
4. How Information Is Used
Information may be used to:
- create and display Graves;
- apply Flowers and operate rankings;
- process and deliver purchases when enabled;
- provide customer support;
- prevent fraud, spam, and abuse;
- secure, debug, maintain, and improve the service; and
- meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
5. Service Providers
500.RIP currently uses Vercel for website hosting and server infrastructure, and Supabase for database and file-storage infrastructure. Payment transactions may be processed by Dodo Payments as a payment provider or Merchant of Record when payment functionality is enabled.
These providers may process information on behalf of 500.RIP according to their own terms and privacy practices. No other analytics or advertising provider is currently installed in the application.
6. Data Sharing
500.RIP does not sell personal data as a standalone product. Information may be shared with infrastructure providers, enabled payment providers, fraud or security providers, professional advisers where reasonably necessary, or public authorities where legally required.
7. Public Content
Grave content is public by design. Project names, URLs, domains, logos, descriptions, Last Words, tags, dates, Flower counts, Grave designs, and ranking positions may be displayed publicly, indexed by search engines, and included in shared links or social previews.
8. Retention
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, secure the platform, or maintain transaction records. Public content may be removed or hidden under the Terms or Content Policy, but some records may need to be retained where required for security, accounting, fraud prevention, or law.
9. Privacy Requests
Subject to applicable law and legitimate record-retention obligations, you may contact 500.RIP regarding access, correction, deletion, or other privacy questions at privacy@500.rip. Include the relevant Grave URL where possible, but do not email payment card details or unnecessary identity documents.
10. International Processing
Service providers may process information in countries outside your country. The exact processing location may vary according to provider infrastructure and service configuration.
11. Children
500.RIP is not designed to knowingly collect sensitive personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted sensitive information, contact privacy@500.rip.
12. Security
500.RIP uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect the service and its data. No internet service is completely secure, and 500.RIP cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or technical failure will never occur.
13. Cookies and Local Storage
500.RIP does not currently use non-essential analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies. A cookie-consent banner is therefore not shown. Browser storage is used only for functional preferences and a temporary anti-abuse session identifier as described above. If optional tracking is introduced later, this Policy and any required consent controls will be updated before use.
14. Changes and Contact
This Policy may be updated as the service changes. Material updates will be reflected in the date above and additional notice will be provided where legally required. General questions may be sent through the Contact page.
